People there cook potatoes in different ways. Some people mostly eat rice, corns, wheat, fruit and vegetables. They don’t eat meat, fish or anything that comes from animals. I asked some friends about their ways of learning English. Mary is a shy girl. She doesn’t talk much but she likes listening to tapes to improve her listening. I suggested that if she could talk with friends in English, she would be good at English. Also, John, my good friend, talked with me about his ways to learn English. He writes vocabulary lists because he believes that vocabulary is more important than grammar. With his large vocabularies, he likes reading English books and magazines, too. Now you may ask me the same question: What are my ways of improving English? I will say I watch English-language TV, which is the best way for me.

In many parts of the world, farmers and their families live in villages or towns. But in the United States each farmer lives on their own fields, often without any neighbors. American farmers stay on their land for a whole week. They do not have to go from a village to the fields every morning.

They go to the nearest town on Saturdays for shopping or on Sundays for a party. The children take buses to large schools. These schools are for the farm families. Some children will walk to school if there are no roads for buses to go by for them.

Babies love chocolate and sometimes they also eat the paper around it. My cat enjoys a meal of good, thick paper, old letters, for example. She does not like newspapers very much.

Of course, the best paper comes from wood. Wood comes from trees, and trees are plants. Vegetables and fruit are plants, too, and we eat a lot of them. So can we also eat wood and paper?

Scientists say, “We can turn paper into food. It will be good food, cheaper than meat or fish or eggs.”

So please keep your old books and letters. (Don"t feed your cat.) One day, they will be on your plate if what scientists say may come true.

Last night, when the car accident happened just in front of our house, I was doing my homework. What was my father doing at that time? He was reading a newspaper. My mother? Hmm….Yes, she was doing some washing. While my sister was watching TV, she heard the sound. She said that she was so scared. Our cat Mimi ran away, too. Before that it was playing on the floor. Luckily, the drivers weren’t injured badly. I think if they weren’t driving so fast, the accident wouldn’t happen.

Waste can be seen everywhere in the schoolword/media/image1.png. Some students ask for more food than they can eat and others often forget to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom. We should say no to the students who waste things every day.

In our everyday life, we can do many things to stop waste from happening, for example, turn off the water taps when we finish washing , turn off the lights when we leave the classroom, try not to order more food than we need and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed. Waste can be stopped one day if we do our best.
